Acquaintance Exhibition
Dark Peak Photo Festival

I am pleased to announce that I will be exhibiting Acquaintance at Dark Peak Photo Festival, Glossop in February 2024.  I’ll also be giving a talk and doing a botanical cyanotype workshop during the festival. Check out the Dark Peak Photo Festival for more information.

Details: 22-25 FEB 2024 | 10AM - 5PM | VICTORIA HALL | FREE

Acquaintance explores the creative possibilities of botanical cyanotype toning and sustainable photographic processes. This exploration considers how location-specific sustainable photographic processes can produce bodies of work that are materially connected to the landscape. This project is centred on the Peak District and surrounding areas, close to where I grew up. This enquiry allows me to become reacquainted with the landscape, through the lens of photography and through the material engagement with plants identified in the environments I visit. Acquaintance has been supported by Arts Council England and my Patreon subscribers.

Ascensions 4 {Class Rules}

On Thursday 07 December I am speaking at Ascensions 4 {Class Rules} , on behalf of the RCA Working Class Collective .
The talk is at Royal College of Art, Art Lounge, Kensington.

“Ascensions is a series of intergenerational conversations between RCA School of Architecture alumni.

For the fourth event in the Ascensions series, we are bringing together Shawn Adams and Jake Arnfield, Melanie King and Sarah Cohen (of the RCA Working Class Collective). They will be joining us to discuss ‘the elephant in the room of architectural education’, class, as an invisible but deeply material factor in creative education.

Shawn, Jake, Sarah and Melanie (RCA Working Class Society) will be in the building to discuss their grounds and horizons and the ways in which the spirit of the RCA has informed and inspired their ongoing and future practice. Taking place in the ArtBar/Lounge, our guests will think through their work in both image and sound, emphasising the significance of presence and culture in the deepening of social and spatial practices, both across the School and beyond.

Held in the more informal, seminal setting of the ArtBar/Lounge, where some of the best ideas and deepest connections tend to come about, and to create a more discursive atmosphere; we want to talk, think, play some music, and collectively be together.

The Lengths Residency

I am excited to announce that I will be participating in a residency at The Lengths Studio in Scotland . I will be further experimenting with large format photography and sustainable photographic processes specific to the Achaphubuil landscape.

I am hosting a print sale on my website, selling photographs of Glencoe in an edition of 10. In addition, there are several new artworks for sale listed in my shop. All funds raised will go towards the residency costs and the development of my practice

Open Call
Symbiosis at Hundred Years Gallery
London Alternative Photography Collective

This is a call out for artists working with analogue and alternative photography, alongside symbiotic processes or themes.

Symbiosis’ is a group exhibition exploring the relationship between image makers, the more-than-human, and alternative photographic processes.

When working with analogue and alternative photographic processes, light, water, and botanicals are harvested to expose, process, tone and transform work. During this transformation, there is dependency on non-human elements.

Exhibition dates: 18-27 January 2024.
Submit on Curatorspace.
Information on the London Alternative Photography Collective website.
